Accounting and audit: current competencies for auditors

The program of continuous professional education of auditors is aimed at expanding and updating theoretical knowledge, practical skills in the organization and methodology of accounting, preparation of financial statements in compliance with NAS; accounting and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS; currents audit issues; formation of auditor’s judgement in the process of performing audit task; current issues of application of international accounting standards and organizational support of the internal quality control of audit services in audit firms.

Preparation of IFRS statements and focus of its audit

International Financial Reporting Standards are a dynamic system of standards that are constantly improving. Knowledge of IFRS also requires constant updating and improving.

The concept of International Financial Reporting Standards is to set principles of accounting and reflection if accounting information in financial statements and notes thereto. The principles, unlike traditional rules, guidelines and recommendations, do not provide clear algorithm for accountants and auditors. Thus, the auditors must not only know these principles but have practical skills to apply them in order to properly from their opinion on interpretation and application of IFRS by companies whose statements are revied and approved. Auditors role and responsibility necessitate the profound IFRS knowledge which must always be relevant.
