The Chamber of Auditors and Accountants of Ukraine (CAAU) postpones ordinary congress of the Union scheduled for March 2020 due to quarantine restriction caused by COVID-19 spread.
As of March 12, the Government announced the introduction of quarantine in Ukraine which was accompanied by a ban on holding mass events involving more than 200 people. Being proactive, the mayor of Kyiv has banned the holding of mass events in the capital. A number of restrictive decisions and responsible attitude to the life and health of the CAAU members were the main reason for the change in the date of the next meeting.
Now the CAAU is actively pursuing its core tasks, ensuring a coherent communication with all representatives of the profession and authorities in a remote work environment. All members of the Union work to embody the global priorities of not only the CAAU but the profession as a whole. First of all, it includes:
- promoting accounting and auditing;
- strengthening the trust in the profession, improving its status and fair competition;
- increasing the level of competence of accountants and auditors;
- international cooperation and integration into the European professional community.
Oleksandr Boiko, the President of the Chamber of Auditors and Accountants of Ukraine
The global pandemic caused by the coronavirus is a complex challenge not only for our community, but also for non-governmental organizations and companies around the world. Therefore, the main task of every member of the profession is to find ways not to cease their activities, to choose new ways of interaction with colleagues. Quarantine restrictions are not only additional difficulties for the professional community, but also opportunities for mastering new skills and competencies, the use of the latest communication tools, the transition to cloud storage. Our team is working to bring together accountants and auditors from across the country, coordinating the work of diverse professionals and directing them to develop accounting and auditing. Today the CAAU has become the center around which the future of the profession is built. Only uniting our efforts we will be able to save all the assets of previous years and accumulate resources for new gains.
