Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (hereinafter - OECD) recommends to the Government of Italy to strengthen compliance with tax legislation of the European Union.
According to OECD experts, this issue is important for Italy - the systematic violation of norms of tax legislation has defective effect on the state economy.
OECD offers Italian officials to increase investment in information technology, to expand the staff of fiscal authorities, lower limits for cash payment and introduce property taxes. The experts of the OECD emphasize that the rate of tax should be calculated on the basis of updated cadastral value of the property. Today, mostly Italians pay taxes, calculating rates from the cadastral value of the property, which has long lost its relevance. This was discussed at the annual OECD study.
