In a new ACCA study conducted with the support of HeadHunter Research, financial representatives were asked to assess their own stability in the current workplace, difficulties with employment, self-confidence and financial well-being in the future.
More than half of the respondents-financial professionals (54%) consider the difficulty of finding vacancies with decent pay to be the main problem during employment. Another 38% of respondents indicated personal dissatisfaction with working conditions (uninteresting tasks, inconvenient schedule, requirements to work overtime, lack of development prospects, inconvenient office location). Also among the three most pressing employment problems is the high level of competition in this area (35%).
According to the data obtained, about half of the applicants of ‘Accounting, Corporate finance’ field noted that job search is difficult (52%). At the same time, 41% of respondents indicated that finding a job in their field does not cause much trouble. In addition, financial professional aged 31-35 claim they have the least difficulty finding a job: only 39% of them said that it is a difficult task. It is also worth noting that in the field of accounting and finance, the complexity of the search is approximately the same for all age groups, while in other professional fields, applicants over 41 are more likely to face this problem.
Despite the difficulties, a significant number of applicants are positive – 65% of representatives of ‘Accounting, Corporate finance’ field are optimistic about their chances of employment in the near future. Only 18% of respondents have a pessimistic forecast.
