Each new generation differs from its predecessors. The study of Deloitte international audit firm opens how to attract and retain young professionals in the field of accounting and auditing considering inherent features of their generation. Thus, there were surveyed 8 000 of young professionals from 30 countries.
Therefore, it is found that those employers whose business is socially active can easier retain current young generation of accountants and auditors. Young professionals assure that they are willing to work more than five years at one place, if the employer will engage them in volunteer and charitable activities that provide benefit to the society.
In addition, young people respect companies with clear corporate policy. Modern auditors and accountants prefer to know exactly their duties and goals that the company strives to achieve.
Millennium Generation is client-oriented. The majority of respondents who participated in the study admit that if clients feel happy and pleased with the results of the services provided it is the most exciting in the work.
However, young professionals are in favour of simple and transparent communications at work and flexible approach to the management. They believe that it is necessary to demand the results, but the ways of results’ achievement should be entrusted to the performers without overloading by unnecessary control.
In general, young professionals in the field of accounting and auditing are quite free in their opinions and beliefs, as well as they appreciate their freedom, but seek to achieve significant results in their work.
