On November 22, 2017, an extensive presentation of the report on the results of the implementation of a new European Directive on Disclosure of Non-Financial Information (2014/95/EU) in doing business practices will be launched in Brussels (Belgium). It will be conducted by representatives of Accountancy Europe, CSR Europe, and GRI. These well-known organizations have studied the impact of the European directive on business and the prospects for the development of non-financial reporting in Europe and are ready to share its results soon.
The authors state that during the presentation, the main elements of the national legislation of the 28 member countries of the European Union will be highlighted and described and, based on this information, the general trends of the development of non-financial reporting in Europe will be outlined.
According to the organizers, the event that will take place in Brussels soon will not only bring together all of Europe’s professional elite to discuss the further development of non-financial reporting, but will also positively influence the further process of integrating sustainable development factors into corporate reporting by European companies.
It should be recalled that non-financial reporting is a report that covers simultaneously the economic, environmental and social aspects of the company's activity, discloses information about its non-financial initiatives, and provides data on the contribution of the company to the sustainable development of the surrounding world. Its subjects can be private companies, non-profit organizations and authorities.
